Two Links from the Virtual Chase

From explodedlibrarian.info (via Research News: The Virtual Chase) come two good blog-related links:

  • On the Net's The Blog Realm about blogs as a source of information for librarians, and as a content-management solution.(Basic stuff for any experienced blogger but good introa and a reminder that this stuff still requires explaining on a daily basis.)

  • SearchEngineBlog, a new blog covering search-engine developments. (I like these "beat-covering" blogs. Speaking of which, the Corante article on the new media ecosystem and blogging's role in it is worth a thousand snippies from celebrity blogger outboxes.

  • "But do not turn your back on the world of Weblogs completely until you also consider the content management angle."

No, do not turn your back lest you miss the action taking place.

I have no idea what happened but ...: I am trying to rid this blog of the copious, and I mean hundreds of comments spam that MT-Blacklist has been ineffective at killing. I have no idea why MT-Blacklist is just not catching all the spam that's there. What is freaky also is the fact that, in cleaning up some... (errors)
RFB hax0red: Having a nice day mostly off-line, thinking about maybe uploading some more cloud pictures or posting something about David Brooks mentioning Salam Pax's blog on the McLehrer report on Friday, when I check my mail and see that Scott Rosenberg and my cousin, A.P. Crumlish, both tipping me off to... (Salon Bloggers)

Reverse Cowgirl rides off into the sunset.: The Merry Pranksters had a slogan, or actually, they had several slogans, but the one I'm thinking of right now is "Nothing lasts." I'm a great believer in lifecycles. Just about everything on this planet - even phenomena - gets born, lives, and then dies. Blogs are no excepts. Some weblogs... (Blogosphere)
Upstreaming theory: OK, I think the reason why my Mediajunkie page hasn't been upstreaming is that my year-long Radio license must have expired. What I'd like to know is why I wasn't automatically invited to renew it when the time was up? Doesn't UserLand want my money? Anyway, I did just re-up for... (Products)
AOL Journals found wanting: Salon blogger Rayne Today has been trying out the AOL Journals feature and has some criticisms to share. UPDATE: Rayne Today has also posted further comments about problems with AOL's approach to blogs (The Clone War Quagmire and earlier entries).... (Products)
