My my.yahoo.com mystery solved

A reader writes:

Regarding seeing 'my.yahoo.com' in your referrers, that may have been me. The "My Yahoo" portal has a feature to store bookmarks on your homepage, and link directly to them from there. I just added you to my bookmarks today, so every time I fire up my browser and click over to your site, you should get a 'my.yahoo.com' referrer.

I have a number of links that appear in my logs once each day. It's sort of charming, seeing what is most likely a single reader, checking in frequently. I've also liked the personal aspect of publishing online, the two-way flow.

I've always liked playing little rooms. My bestselling books have sold in the tens and even hundreds of thousands (well, one book anyway), but you get precious little feedback, relatively speaking, from an audience of that size.

BlogPulse automates trendspotting: Yet another memetracking site keyed into the blogosphere is the still-in-beta BlogPulse, which identifies key phrases (usually of two words or more) - as well as topics, people, and links - that are appearing most often in tracked weblogs each day. I'm not sure how they determine what's a topic and... (Blogosphere)
Wm. Gibson suspends blog to write novel: True to his word, William Gibson has taken a hiatus from blogging to focus on his next novel. This interests me because I have ongoing fiction and other narrative projects of my own and I can't figure out if I'm in the Cory Doctorow school of composting ideas in a blog... (Weblog Concepts)
Betsy Devine proposes virtual poster session for BloggerCon: Explaining that a poster session is an informal context at an academic conference in which people who aren't formally presenting papers can still submit a title and abstract and read something. In Devine's conception, BloggerCon could invite contributers to a "poster session" of the conference, to be held in cyberspace. Bloggers... (People Power)
We're No. 10 (again): Through regular exercise and the downing of a lot of chocolate-covered donuts, Radio Free Blogistan's parent blog, Mediajunkie, has recovered its coveted 10th-place rankings in the list of Salon's all time Rankings by Page-Reads.... (Salon Bloggers)
Democratic party weblog: The Democratic National Committee has started a blog called Kicking Ass at the democrats.org site. I guess it beats faxing the talking points around, and I like the way they've jumped in with both feet. There's no calendar or forward-and-back links from individually archived entries, so I can't tell when the... (Politics)
