Also, it appears that for a while I was streaming the RSS file for the new 0001111 category to the address of the main RFB news feed, another embarassing goof.
In good administrivia news, I think I should now be able to make the old RSS file send out an update notice for the new RSS address, automatically updating anyone still subscribing to the old RSS address.
All ist klar, herr kommisar?
(Note: this is basically a fillibuster post for the purpose of sending a new entry to the home page to test and see what happens. But, really, sheesh, give me that ol' time FTP religion any day.)
UPDATE: I've temporarily turned off upstreaming to the new 0001111 category (actually, what I did was take the # off the front of the upstream.xml file, which makes the subcat upstream to a subdirectory of the main site: http://radiofreeblogistan.com/categories/0001111, which is useless, but also harmless). I'm doing this to see if it removes whatever was interfering with normal upstreaming of the home page to the root of the main site. Reposting this entry is a way of testing that.

Recently I made a chart of the blogging and RSS tools I'm using (but excluding outside web development, media editing, and writing tools. It's insanely complicated, but that's mainly because no one system does everything I need, and I don't have the chops (yet) to roll my own from scratch.
I will either scan my sketch or turn it into a powerpoint slide or something. I call it the Radio Free Blogistan network and it somewhat resembles an Ourobouros snake eating its own tail.
UPDATE: It looks like I may need to use the MetaWeblog API interface if I want to get titles onto my entries through Archipelago.
Also, I haven't got it talking to Movable Type yet, something kung-log does with ease, of course.

In the meantime, I expect my blogging to either drop off (as I wait till completing me contractual writing quota each day before touching blogspace) or pick up (as I procrastinate furiously). No promises either way.
You can probably expect a lot of agonizing posts about deadlines and how yucky there are too, as this thing goes along (my schedule, I think it's safe to say, runs from now until about May).
now playing:
