DeLaygate gathering steam
Joshua Marshall is doing his usual bang-up job of covering every angle of the ongoing Tom DeLay scandal dealing with misuse of Homeland Security resources in the Texas redistricting conflict, and subsequent attempts to cover tracks.

Water man down

I find myself standing in my room, narrating out loud to no one the fact that I am thirsty, instead of going and getting myself the glass of water I've been wanting for the last hour at least.

The day is not going like it was supposed to.

The day is going well.

Hot, is it hot where you are? There were breezes last week but it's dead still now. Out back it's a killing field. They run rampant, though the brick and the piece of wood keep yowly out, haven't seem him strumming his banjo for weeks.

Rufus sided towhee, a different one.

What is my hour worth? What is my word price? Why am I still thirsty?

Blogger transition
If you have a blog at Blogger, you may have noticed some instability lately. It appears that the Pyra team at Google is in the process of switching most blogs over to "Dano" the beta of the new version of Blogger. Your interface will change and you'll need to update your bookmarklets. There's lots more info available at new.blogger.com and in the help pane of the new interface.

If your blog hasn't switched over yet, just sit tight. It will soon. You may notice its happened when your bookmarklet stops working.

I paid for Blogger, so my blogs over there were in the Pro interface, so I guess I'm seeing the Pro side of the new interface mainly. (I keep a separate non-Pro account for research purposes.) So poke around yourself to see what's different.

One thing I did notice is that if you had your RSS (shit! I said it again) syndication feed enabled in Pro, it's been turned off. You'll need to manually enable it again, which probably forces a rebuild of the new valid RSS template (still not customizable at first glance).

Who is RFB?
Radio Free Blogistan is (mostly) the work of Christian Crumlish, xian for short. I am a writer, publisher, artist, and geek. I was born in New York and I live in Oakland, California. My personal blog is called X-POLLEN, my old home page still lingers at Enterzone, a quarterly published from 1994 to 1998. I am also a consultant (mostly content strategy, information architecture, copywriting, and brain surgery). I am also a literary agent. No, I do not have enough pull to get your first novel published.

The purpose of this "web blog" (that's a joke, son) is to document my efforts to research and cobble together something I call my Personal Expression Platform (PEP). I would be happy to adopt someone else's solution if it met my requirements and I were capable of learning it (*cough*, *cough* Paul Ford...).

I am a media junkie and a meme watcher. Once a Dead head, always a Dead head. Some of my sites have multiple contributors.

(Nearly everything I post to a weblog anywhere shows up here at RFB since we get the street traffic over here.) Consider reading or subscribing to the feed for one of this site's subcategories to read just the topics you want.
