This post kills fascists
reprinted from memewatch:

Over at RasterWeb, I saw a tagline, "this website kills fascists," and it reminded me of how Levi Asher put "this website kills fascists on one of his early sites, possibly Queensboro Ballads. So I did a little simple memetracking at Google. A basic search on "kills fascists" yielded a page full of links to the original Woody Guthrie reference (the sticker, I think it was, that read "this machine kills fascists" that he had stuck on his guitar).

So then I did a search to skip the machine results (+this "kills fascists" -machine). That brought up a lot of results related to a site called This Pirate Kills Fascists and to the phrase "this computer kills fascists." A search to skip those (+this "kills fascists" -machine -computer -pirate) came up with a more varied set of results, including:

Other things that kills fascists: this radio; this poem; this mix tape; this music; I also heard she; this amp; this comic; this CD; this grin; this sound; you don't care about the whereabouts of a gun, as long as it; this Canuck.

Buzzing New York, July 9 - 16
Hey, I'm headed to New York next week (after the 4th of July holiday). I arrive on Wednesday, July 9 and I'm returning to Oakland late on Wednesday, July 16.

Before then, I have some brutal deadlines. While in New York I'll do some work (mostly reviewing manuscript for my current book project and meeting with a few publishers) but I'm also trying to take some time off, decompress, and catch up with some old friends.

Speaking of which, for my friends who do have a life, I thought I'd mention the b3ta newsletter that sends out a slate of kooky links every Friday. If you already know about b3ta then you are a geek, which is OK. Don't send me any "d00d, I've been getting my wacky links from b3ta for years now - where have you been?" mail. I am mentioning the b3ta collective for the benefit of my less jacked-in friends and family, who are legion and include Jeff Green.

Aoling the blogosphere
Elizabeth Lane Lawley (question, is it overly familiar to refer to a weblogger by the name they sign their posts with - that is, would it be forward to have started my lead with "Liz Lawley writes..."?) writes in here mamamusings blog about the coming "aoling" of the blogosphere when weblogs hit critical mass an AOL, Microsoft, Yahoo! and other big companies get into the game.

There's good followup in the comments. I've just added mamamusings to my blogroll.

Blogging has grown up
Chuqui at Teal Sunglasses (whom I first read when he was active in several Usenet communities) writes a "Dear Dave" letter expressing his own view of the personality politics in the weblog leadership world lately:
Blogging has grown up. it doesn't need a parent any more, it needs a friend.

Who is Radio Free Blogistan?
Radio Free Blogistan is (mostly) the work of Christian Crumlish, xian for short. I am a writer, publisher, artist, and geek. I was born in New York and I live in Oakland, California. My personal blog is called X-POLLEN, my old home page still lingers at Enterzone, a quarterly published from 1994 to 1998. I am also a consultant (mostly content strategy, information architecture, copywriting, and brain surgery). I am also a literary agent. No, I do not have enough pull to get your first novel published.

The purpose of this "web blog" (that's a joke, son) is to document my efforts to research and cobble together something I call my Personal Expression Platform (PEP). I would be happy to adopt someone else's solution if it met my requirements and I were capable of learning it (*cough*, *cough* Paul Ford...).

I am a media junkie and a meme watcher. Once a Dead head, always a Dead head. Some of my sites have multiple contributors.

(Nearly everything I post to a weblog anywhere shows up here at RFB since we get the street traffic over here.) Consider reading or subscribing to the feed for one of this site's subcategories to read just the topics you want.
