Another metablog comes on the scene

Now, I'm still super-skeptical of the actual impact that blogs will have on the presidential election, or politics in general, but the new blog run by Matt Stoller, Jay Rosen, and Christopher Lydon, The Blogging Of The President: 2004, looks like it'll be worth watching. True, Lydon has drunk deep of the Dave Winer Whacky Blog Cultist Kool Aid, but he's still got his head on straight, while Rosen is saying more of note on the relationship between blogging and journalism than anyone else out there, and Stoller has been an interesting voice in the Clark movement on blogs, the 'net, etc... Like I said, it should be interesting, but take anything that sounds at all Winer-esque with a big ol' grain of salt... =)

Tom Coates on the rightward tilt in the punditic blogosphere: Over at plasticbag.org, Tom wonders about the popularity of right-wing views among political bloggers, and offers a few theories: [T]he sheer number and moral certainty of current right-wing webloggers is intimidating (occasionally terrifying). This in itself would not be a reason to avoid debate, except that (as is often the case... (Weblog Concepts)

Start at the beginning, proceed through the middle to the end, and then stop: Diane E. is ending her Letter from Gotham blog and plans to remove it from the Web (so the preceding link may not work). I'm not sure why she wants to remove it, but her reasons for ending it are clear: she's finished. Like everything else, a blog can have a... (Weblog Concepts)

Video kill the bloggio star?: As a writer, I am ambivalent about mediablogging and the old vidphone idea mixed with a kind of public-access Wayne's World media future, but mobile blogging (moblogging?) — which seems to be the meme of the moment in metablogging circles — seems more appealing. Just as I've always liked carrying a... (Weblog Concepts)
