Playing with some logos

this is an early experiment with a different font

Some questions I have:
Do you want to keep the red, white black scheme? Just asking.
There is a lot of futurist art out there. Do you have anything in mind?

I was looking at the last three books on this page. Found them quite inspiring

One of the keys of a good logo is that it should be able to be shrunk down to a small size and not lose so much information it is unusable.

If that criteria is applied to these three then the thrid seems a non starter. Coupled with the difficulty of reading it without prior knowledge of the actaul name "Radio Free Blogistan" i'd vote to remove the thord from consideration.

I love the supremecist qualities of the icon. Very cool and nicely reflects the idea of a transmitter. Of the two if we apply the shrinking criteria two the second one the "S" in the name does not render in an intelligible fashion. It parses for you and I but for someone un-familiar with the name they would have a difficult time with knowing that is an "S."

I like the top one the best and the second one is properly considered a variant. I'd like to see a variant not unlike the first one but with the icon to the left.

Very nice work!

yes, some cool food for thought.

no, i have no attachment to the color scheme. everything is up for grabs. i have gradually evolved the font sizes and typefaces toward things i find reasonable, but - really - everything's fair game.

Red, white, & black though are very important to futurists.

it's also "the Roger Black way" ... am I wrong in thinking red, white, and black is a somewhat masculine pallette, almost militaristic? there is that soft blue now, but i've never been sure it worked, really.
