Lockergnome's RSS with ads

And so it has started.

If you have an aggregator, check out the feed for Lockergnome's RSS Resource. Yes, it has ads inserted in the feed as headlines that do not appear published on the main site.

I still do not know what to make of it.

On the one part, I can understand the entrepeneurial rationalization for it. On the other hand, ads in the feed that are not identified as ads are just, well, editorially speaking, wrong. It is not that sponsored content is ethically wrong. That's what puff pieces in magazines and TV are all about.

What I do not like about the Lockergnome strategy is that they are not identifying the ads as such. They are just another headline in the feed. What would they call it, though? Sponsored content? Editorial? Aditorials? [via Library Stuff]
