WikiNews to chat with bloggers

Jimmy Wales is inviting bloggers to chat about Wikinews:

Wikinews is our collaborative writing project to report the news on a wide variety of subjects using a wiki. On Saturday, February 5, 2005, 22:00 UTC (timezone conversion), we are having an open IRC chat on how Wikinews can interact with weblogs. If you’re a blogger, and you’d like to know more about how Wikinews works, how you can use Wikinews stories in your blog, and how you can contribute, this is an event you should attend. The chat will take place on irc.freenode.net in the #wikinews channel. Agenda and more information on how to connect: m:Wikinews_Chat .

Spread the word!

This social software stuff is tricky: Wow, danah boyd took me to school (without naming any names, which was kind of her) and I'm learning a difficult lesson. I think Ben Brown really likes me!: From: "Ben Brown" <member@orkut.com> To: "Christian Crumlish" Subject: Re: is orkut over? Dude, you should really stop with the friends-of-friends messages. I have no idea who you are. This message was sent by Ben Brown to Christian Crumlish.... (People Power)
Political pr0n: The Rude Pundit is shockingly right about everything! (via The Little Teapot).... (Politics)

Meticulous paranoia: From MZ comes this link to the Elite Network that controls our lives... uh, yeah. So how come the EU shows up in two different parts of the org chart?... (Memes)
Layoffs at Grateful Dead Productions: By now, most tapped-in Deadheads have heard that GDP is shutting its doors and outsourcing its merch business, laying off most of their longtime employees. Here's a report supposedly from an insider (while I can't vouch for the veracity, it's interesting enough to pass along): ...awful news from GDP today. All... (Miscellany)
